Mountain View, May 20. Tech giant Google announced a fresh wave of artificial intelligence (AI) at its annual developer conference, I/O 2026. Amid competition from companies like OpenAI and Anthropic, Google rolled out several new models and features.

Gemini 3.5 Flash

The company launched Gemini 3.5 Flash, the first in its latest series of models that pairs intelligence with the ability to take "action". It is said to outperform the older Gemini 3.1 Pro on coding and agentic benchmarks and runs at 289 tokens per second.

Omni: a "world model"

Google unveiled a multimodal "world model" called Omni that can create "anything" from any input — starting with video. Omni Flash is rolling out globally to Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, and is also available in YouTube Shorts Remix.

Spark and agentic AI

Google announced Gemini Spark, a general-purpose AI agent that can reason across information in connected apps, including Gmail. It also introduced Antigravity 2.0 for coding, made available globally for free. The company launched a new "AI Ultra" tier priced at $100 per month.
