New Delhi, May 7. The Indian Air Force commemorated the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor at 1:05 am on Tuesday — the exact timing of the original 2025 action. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh used the occasion to reaffirm the armed forces' resolve.
The 2025 action recalled
On May 7, 2025, the IAF carried out precision strikes on nine targets in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Punjab under Operation Sindoor. The action followed the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians were killed. The original strike killed over 100 terrorists and destroyed more than nine camps.
Anniversary commemorations
The IAF held special ceremonies at forward airbases including Ambala, Gwalior, and Halwara. Singh said, "India will never compromise on terrorism. Operation Sindoor made it clear that the Line of Control and the International Border are no longer safe sanctuaries for terrorists."
